The Association was established in 2006 by prominent politicians, academics, representatives of the public and the business community who are confident that overcoming the difficult period Bulgaria is going through and its demographic crisis would take the efforts of each and everyone feeling Bulgarian no matter where they are in the world.
The Association’s activities are targeted on our compatriots living abroad and seek to assist those of them wishing to return to Bulgaria in pursuing their non-easy choice.

The Association has set itself the following major goals:

• To establish and maintain contacts with Bulgarian communities and individuals living abroad;
• To become familiar with their living conditions and help them to keep up their contacts with Bulgaria by periodically briefing them on the events taking place in the country;
• To support the efforts of Bulgarians living abroad to come back to their motherland by:
• making them aware of the conditions and legal requirements to that end;
• assisting them to settle in Bulgaria;
• assisting them to find suitable jobs;
• Helping the children of Bulgarian emigrants to get appropriate education in Bulgaria;
• Informing official Bulgarian authorities and institutions on the life and needs of Bulgarians abroad etc.
